Boosting Performance with a Hybrid-Cloud

About the project

Tactica is a software hosting system operation company that specializes in big data processes. They approached Dedicatted with critical infrastructure challenges, including system instability, uncontrolled resource distribution, and rising cloud costs. These issues were causing a decline in their overall system performance. To address these challenges, Dedicatted provided an innovative solution that involved rebuilding Tactica’s infrastructure using a hybrid cloud approach, combining the power of AWS cloud and Hetzner hosting provider.

Project Goals

Strengthen infrastructure stability for reliable and efficient large-scale data processing.

Minimize cloud costs while retaining high availability and observability benefits.

Boost infrastructure management with real-time monitoring and instant scalability during peak loads.

Task

Restructure the Kubernetes environment to improve stability, scalability, and security by migrating to AWS EKS service, creating separate node groups for Linux and Windows workers, and implementing a multi-cloud Kubernetes solution with mTLS connectivity to reduce costs during data processing.

Solution

Migrated to AWS EKS service with distinct node groups for Linux and Windows workers, while ensuring application containerization and orchestration adhered to DevOps best practices. Enhanced security coverage was achieved using AWS ECR and AWS OpenSearch. A multi-cloud Kubernetes solution was established by distributing production across multiple clusters and creating separate node groups on Hetzner, effectively reducing costs during data processing.

Project Results

Migrated to AWS EKS service with distinct node groups for Linux and Windows workers, while ensuring application containerization and orchestration adhered to DevOps best practices. Enhanced security coverage was achieved using AWS ECR and AWS OpenSearch. A multi-cloud Kubernetes solution was established by distributing production across multiple clusters and creating separate node groups on Hetzner, effectively reducing costs during data processing.

01

Stability

The migration to AWS EKS service and implementation of DevOps best practices significantly reduced the frequency and severity of issues in the Kubernetes environment.

02

Scalability

Separate node groups for Linux and Windows workers, combined with a multi-cloud Kubernetes solution, allowed for easy scaling based on business needs.

03

Security

Application containerization and orchestration through AWS EKS, along with AWS ECR and AWS OpenSearch, provided comprehensive security coverage.
